The aim of this study was to analyze the basic density of tree species of Cerradão phytophysiognomy in Cerrado domain in the state of Tocantins, and establish the relationship between the wood basic density of stems and branches. Samples of 80 trees were collected from stems (base, middle and top) and branches (thick branch, medium branch, and twig). The species had an average 0,650 g cm-3 of wood basic density. The basic density for most species (58%) decreased from the bottom to the top of the stem. The basic wood density between axial positions of the stem and the basic density of branches with different diameters showed significant relationship. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar os danos causados por Oncideres saga em plantios de Acacia mearnsii. Foi avaliada a porcentagem de árvores atacadas, sendo mensurados o diâmetro e comprimento dos galhos atacados. Verificou-se que 34,3% das árvores apresentavam galhos cortados por O. saga. O diâmetro e o comprimento médio dos galhos cortados foram de 5,75 cm e 4,95 m, respectivamente. O terço inferior dos galhos roletados apresentou 64,23% das incisões de postura. Soil water deficits may affect the location and pattern of flower and pod production on different stem axes of a bean plant. The objective of this study was to understand the effect of drought stress on the distribution of flowers and pods on the main stem and on branches of bean plants. The experiment was conducted in a shelter field facility. Water stress was imposed from the end of the vegetative stage to physiological maturity and soil water was measured with a neutron probe every two weeks. Formation of flowers at each node of the main stem was monitored at 44 days after planting (DAP) and formation of pods at 55DAP and 65 DAP. This paper presents results obtained for fitting equations to estimate volume and weight of aerial compartments of Grevillea robusta trees. Twelve trees representing four provenances were collected from an eight-year-old provenance trial located in the municipality of Anhembi, State of São Paulo. The trunks of the trees were segmented until the minimum diameter of 5 cm. The heartwood was measured till the height it was possible to be distinguished in the tree. Allometric models were the most suitable for this paper proposes. The inclusion of the combined variable (total height multiplied by the diameter at breast height) contributed to a better adjustment of most equations.
